Kathak is a very complete ancient art form that is at once complex, dynamic and subtle. The confluence of Hindu and Muslim cultures in Kathak makes this dance form particuarly rich and unique. It is absolutely not a coincidence if many of the most beautiful Bollywood choreographies are directly inspired by Kathak dance mouvements and/or are choreographed by the most important Kathak Masters.

The technical aspects of Kathak (Nritt) will be explored during the class through the rhythmic work of the feet, the hands movements, the body coordination and technical pieces based on the sounds produced by the tabla (Indian drum).

The course's entire syllabus is based on the Lucknow Gharana, well known for his beauty and poetry of its style. The classes are individual or in small group, for adults and kids and for all levels. On-line classes and/or classes in my studio in Geneva are available. I can also provide workshops for kids or adults upon request.
